• Validator & Network Infrastructure (Pacific Backbone)
• Infrastructure ownership: Technical lead for Pacific Backbone — architecting and deploying validator nodes across Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, and Seoul.
• End-to-end lifecycle: Own the full validator lifecycle as we expand — site selection, hardware procurement, bare-metal setup, testnet and mainnet activation, monitoring, and continuous optimization.
• Client diversity: Evaluate and operate across validator client implementations (e.g., Agave, Firedancer, Jito-Solana) to optimize performance and reduce client concentration risk.
• Transaction Optimization & MEV
• Transaction strategies: Assess and implement optimization opportunities, including tuning Jito Block Assembly Marketplace (BAM), Stake-Weighted QoS (SWQoS), and related MEV configurations.
• Risk assessment: Validate performance and security before deploying new transaction or MEV configurations. This includes testnet validation across client versions, slashing-risk modeling, rollback procedures, and post-deployment monitoring SLAs.
• Protocol tracking: Stay ahead of Solana network upgrades — Agave releases, Firedancer rollout, Alpenglow consensus, and active SIMDs — and propose corresponding upgrades to our fleet.
• Partnership & Ecosystem Management
• Institutional partners: Manage technical relationships with the Solana Foundation, Jito Foundation, DoubleZero Foundation, and others. Fulfill their technical and operational requirements and contribute to broader network and ecosystem development.
• Partner management: Manage data center and infrastructure partners across the APAC footprint as part of our expansion. Existing relationships with APAC data centers or Solana ecosystem teams are a strong plus.
• Service provider evaluation: Research, evaluate, and onboard service providers and infrastructure partners across the Solana ecosystem — validator client options, RPC providers, monitoring stacks, and specialist tooling.
• Security, Risk & Release Governance
• ISMS: Operate and continuously improve HSDT's Information Security Management System. Maintain the Risk Register, author security policies, and drive ISO 27001 and SOC 2 readiness. Prior ISMS / ISO 27001 / SOC 2 experience inside an audited environment is a strong plus.
• SDLC & release management: Enforce and implement rigorous SDLC and release frameworks to orchestrate node upgrades and patches with zero downtime and zero slashing risk.
• Security operations: Implement and enhance security policies covering key management, validator hardening, incident response, and vendor risk.
• Team & Project Management
• Project management: Run infrastructure delivery — milestones, timelines, dependencies, and status reporting to senior leadership.
• Budget: Support formulation and management of the budget across vendor, IT, software, and hardware.
• Team building: Build and lead the infrastructure team as Pacific Backbone scales. Mentor engineers, set the technical bar, and shape the engineering culture — direct, accountable, documented.
